Product selection
Choosing a sealant for your application.
Start with the joint, the materials and the service conditions. A model number alone does not establish suitability.

Describe the application.
Specify whether you need weather sealing, sanitary sealing, bonding or another function. Structural and fire-related uses require particular attention to the product’s documented scope.
Identify both substrates.
List the materials on each side of the joint, including coatings and finishes. Ask the manufacturer to review compatibility, surface preparation and any required adhesion tests.
Explain the service conditions.
Share indoor or outdoor exposure, moisture, temperature conditions and expected joint movement. Use current technical documentation to assess whether the selected model fits.
Compare like-for-like information.
Ask for the current TDS and relevant test method, rather than comparing product names alone. Confirm application limits, curing information, storage requirements and the required pack format.
Confirm with a sample.
Discuss a suitable sample and validation plan before a bulk order. Check the product on representative materials using the proposed preparation and application method.
